As a young woman I studied classical music dreaming of the day I would play with a major symphony. I also watched as my Mother painted with oils and was fascinated by how she created her "masterpieces". She let me try her paints, but my heart was set on my music. However, I soon found myself married, then children and a business career, so my creative path was on hold.
Now the children are grown, and I have retired from business. I decided it was time to satisfy my craving for creativity. About the time of my retirement our family made a move to a wooded property on the edge of a small lake close to the Sleeping Bear National Park. The picturesque surrounding area offers endless inspiration for landscape and nature paintings. I admit - I'm hooked! I love the process of beginning with a blank canvas and making a statement with style and color.
The excitement comes when the muse arrives, and I just can't wait for my colorful wet pallet!
Mostly a watercolorist, I also paint with mixed media, and oil.
I have studied with many talented instructors, participated in juried shows, and several group and solo presentations.
